Things that are useful to know …

These points have come to light from many years of past experience and trying to improve my service.

Unlike some trades there can often be a few unknowns in landscaping as I am digging into the ground. For example I sometimes find areas of unexpected concrete. For this reason my quote will be an estimate to cover necessary additional works not outlined on the quote. I do pride myself on keeping to price and very rarely does the actual price and the estimate differ.

I landscape Monday to Thursday leaving Friday free for me to catch up with design work and quotes.

I start work at 8am and usually finish around 4pm. 
I will require parking permits for the duration of the works.

I do not take on regular garden maintenance.

I do not work with composite decking only treated soft wood.
I really like to crack on with things and customers often comment on how amazed they are on how much I get done. Having other trades present at the same time as me really interferes with this. Please do not book other trades when I am working.
I will require easy access to water and electric.

Please tell your neighbours on all sides of the garden (including bottom) you are having work done to avoid any conflict.

Landscaping is a messy job, especially when it rains. I try to stay tidy, but there are limits to this as I do become quite dirty myself.

I like to communicate via e-mail each night with questions and updates.

I have dedicated local suppliers for all materials. I have had many bad experiences of customers supplying there own materials and then not being happy with them, leaving us with nothing to work with. I will supply samples of all materials before work starts.

I bring my own camping toilet tent which I put up in your garden so I will not use your loo.

I bring my own cups and kettle.

Turfing

Best done in the Spring or Autumn but possible at all times of the year. It requires quite considerable aftercare as it is a living thing. In short, it cant be walked on and needs watering for 3 weeks after install. Make sure you are not going to be away.

Decking

All the decking we use comes pre treated you can extend its 10 year life span by treating in the summer months with a clear wood protector.

It does need twice yearly pressure washing, especially if installed in a shady area of the garden (not ideal.)New Paragraph
